A Day Trip to LA
Living in SoCal there is so much to do, but sometimes it's hard to think of a good, fun day trip idea. One of my favorite day trips to make is to LA. There are so many things to do and see in LA, but here are some of my fav things to do!
1. Go to Hollywood & Highland and walk around the mall and look at all the stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. There is $2 parking that you can get validated at any restaurant or even Starbucks, so you don't have to worry about finding a good place to park! There is good shopping, cute coffee shops and well great street entertainment. You can stop by and see all your favorite celebs stars and explore the surrounding area.
2. Go eat at one of my favorite LA delis called Canter's. I promise it will not disappoint. My favorite meal is a good old Corned Beef sandwich on rye bread with russian sauce, cole slaw and swiss cheese. The people are amazing and the food is even better!! Here is the address, so that the next time you are in LA you can easily find it 419; North Fairfax Avenue, Los Angeles, CA 90036.
3. Head to the Griffith Observatory around 3pm so you make it in time for the sunset. It is an easy drive and once you find parking there is a shuttle that will take you up to the top. It is free to walk around, so you don't have to worry about spending money. The view is breathtaking and on a clear day you can see the ocean and the Channel and Catalina islands. You can pack a lunch and have a picnic on the grass and make a whole day out of the visit.
4. On this past trip I didn't make it to LACMA (Los Angeles County Museum of Art), but if you enjoy art and good picture taking spots LACMA will definitely be the place for you! It's beautiful to walk around, but even more fun to take pictures with all the interactive art!!
There are so many things to do in Hollywood, but these are just a few of my favorite things to do to make for a perfect inexpensive day trip.
